Ski Liberty

We went skiing & snowboarding with Mom & Dad Graves and Kyle over the Christmas break. Kevin was very excited at the opportunity to go snowboarding this year and is already telling me how he wants a season pass to liberty since we live so close for next christmas. I stuck with Terry and Rich while Kevin went off to ski on "better" slopes with Kyle. It was a lot of fun!

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas together! We went to both of our parents house again and opened presents with our families. We got lots of great things. Kevin was pretty excited about his Yankees blanket I gave him for christmas, which I had my Mom make for him :) Joey was also very excited about the gecko Kevin got for him. Its almost as tall as him!

Twas the Night before Christmas

Christmas Eve was a busy evening but lots of fun with great friends and family! We started out the afternoon at my parents house with our wonderful family friends. Our plan was to then go to Christmas Eve service at Eylers Valley Chapel at 5pm. Well we were running late and didnt get to the church until 4:50 and guess what there was no more room! The chapel is beautiful but also very small...can't wait for Kevin to experience it next year :) We then made our way to Kevin's parents house to have Christmas Eve with the Ryan side of the family. I of course was the target for the wrapping paper fight which Grandpa Ryan even took part in :) One of the pictures is Mike hiding behind the Christmas tree because he didnt want to be caught throwing the wrapping paper at me!

Couldn't ask for better girlfriends ...

Once there were 4 singles girls who loved each other dearly. Then one of the those girls got engaged a year ago and married 4 months ago. Now another girl got engaged just a few weeks ago and getting married in 2 weeks! This would be The Sisterhood of Blonnie, Alicia, Meghan & Jenn. Blonnie is not only getting married in 2 weeks she is also moving to Hawaii as her future husband is in the military and next duty station is Hawaii :) Which of course us girls can't wait to visit!

Last night we had a planned a dinner with us four girls to have one last night of us all living in the area and once we found out Blonnie was getting married we made it a little Bachelorette evening as well. We had an awesome evening together! I love these girls

Christmas Program

On Friday Joey had his Christmas Program for Nursery School. He did a great job :) Joey knew all of the words and motions to his songs. Santa even made a surprise visit while the children were singing. We were all there to enjoy an afternoon together!

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland!

When it snows, aint it thrilling, though your nose gets a chilling, We'll frolic and play the Eskimo way, Walkin in a Winter Wonderland!

That pretty much sums up Frederick, Maryland right now! This is the most snow we have seen around here in many many years. We have some great friends staying with us right now and we were all so excited this morning to see the amount of snow that had fallen over night that we were up peering out the window at 5am! Kevin and I decided to venture out into the snow and take a walk around the neighborhood. I'm sure we will be back out again before long...Right now I am looking out my window and the snow is getting heavier as I type :) Lets give you an idea of just how much snow we have...the picture of our house shows the snow being level with our porch which is atleast a foot off the ground...maybe a little higher.

Hard at Work

We spent part of the day Saturday at my parents house, hanging out with them. Kevin & my Dad decided to work on the Corn hole game they are in the process of making. Above is a picture of Kevin using "power tools" which he is so excited about. He actually did a really good job...with my Dad's supervision of course :)

Gaver Tree Farm

We cut down our first Christmas Tree together! It was beautiful weather this weekend so we took advantage of it. It was a great experience. The farm had several different types of trees and fields full of trees to choose from. My Mom came over and put all the lights on the tree for us (my least fav. part). So excited to have our house all decorated for Christmas!

Happy Turkey Day

Well we survived our first Thanksgiving as a married couple! We decided to spread out the Thanksgiving dinners over the past 2 days. We ate dinner with my family Wednesday evening and then dinner with the Graves/Ryan family today. We did end up back at my parents house for dessert and a great time with special friends :) I included a few photos from our day...and yes, Kevin has a beard!

I heart running on Turkey Day!

This is how we started off our Thanksgiving day. It is the Grave's Family tradition to run the turkey chase each year. There is a 10k run or a 2 mile fun run/walk. Obviously we know which one I have done the past 2 years...2 MILE! Kristy and I are turkey chase partners...last year she was very pregnant and now this year Dylan joined us.

Turtles!

Kevin has fallen in love with our turtles. Yes, we have 2 small turtles. I have had them for about 2 years. Once we moved into our house the turtles joined us and Kevin has become obsessed about them. He feeds them religiously every morning before he goes to work. I found out that he was over feeding them because he thinks they need to get bigger which will only happen with a bigger tank which is our on going argument. I do not want big turtles which is why I have them in the tank I do...Kevin on the other hand wants them to grow. For now I am winning :) I do have to say that along with Kevin's obsession with the turtles comes his weekly tank cleaning. Now remember Kevin is the person who could care less how messy his room was or even now what our house looks like BUT those turtles are living the high life!
